Comma Groups are a vital part of how IUCC members connect as a community. Groups meet once per month for food, fellowship, and spirited discussion. Over one-third of our members participated in a Comma Group last year. Whether you’re new to Comma Groups this year or returning for your sixth year, please signup for Comma Groups online.
We would love to have you join us in this wonderful time. If you’d like to join a group, contact Steve Swope.
The term “Comma Group” is inspired by the Gracie Allen quote, “Never place a period where God has placed a comma.” The UCC Comma is a new way to proclaim “Our Faith is 2,000 years old, our thinking is not.” The Comma invites us to believe that God speaks through other people, nature, music, art, a theorem, the Bible, and in so many other ways.
Sample Comma Group Topics:
- What do the sacraments mean to us?
- How should IUCC define evangelism and how should we put it into practice?
- Should IUCC be a creedal church?
- Who bears the burden of explaining the evil we have in the world – God or us?
- Is there an afterlife?
