IUCC EVENTS
IUCC and University Synagogue Interfaith Volunteer Event
IUCC and University Synagogue Interfaith Volunteer Event on February 6
When we did a survey at our last Women to Women Event with University Synagogue, one of the most requested activities was a joint community service event. That is now happening! University Synagogue is spearheading a Joint Interfaith Volunteer project to help Second Harvest, a wonderful organization that provides food for the needy. The synagogue was given 25 spots to be filled with a combination of volunteers from our two congregations. This opportunity is taking place on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Second Harvest Distribution Center (8014 Marine Way, Irvine, CA).
LAST CHANCE TO RSVP! The synagogue has asked that we provide them with a list of our volunteers as soon as possible so we have an accurate headcount, so please email tricia_aynes@yahoo.com by that date if you are able to participate. Participants will also need to register individually with Second Harvest no later than January 23 at https://feedoc.volunteerhub.com/vv2/lp/UniversitySynagogue/event/ca6b274c-cb1a-4e5c-af3b-9ec9fe328fd3
(this link provides important information for participants on what to wear and what to expect while helping Second Harvest to ensure that all liability release forms are completed). We hope you can attend and help others while getting better acquainted with our friends at University Synagogue!
