Overview: TRUE BELIEVER deconstructs the history of a strategic political strategy that has been hiding in plain sight for fifty years! From the pulpit to the pews to the polls, the fifty-year arc of the Religious Right’s Agenda is playing out before our eyes right NOW.

About the Film: An evangelical filmmaker discovers the true origins of the pro-life movement while doing a deeply personal examination of her own family and identity. Her investigation shows a history of white supremacy, betrayal and lies regarding abortion. As Roe is overturned and abortion bans become routine, TRUE BELIEVER calls for a close examination of the religious right and compels Americans to become aware and wake up because what they’re doing threatens our very Democracy. Location: Irvine United Congregational Church main sanctuary.

This hybrid event will have a short WAVE introduction before the film screening. You can join other WAVE members for an in-person screening at IUCC (Irvine United Congregational Church), 4915 Alton Parkway, Irvine or stream virtually.

Everyone must have a ticket whether in person or virtual.
