Film Premiere: Doss v. Bernal Reenactment, 80 Years Later
Join us for the premiere of Doss v. Bernal, a powerful reenactment that revisits a pivotal 1943 legal battle in Fullerton, California. This case centered on Alex and Esther Bernal, who unknowingly purchased a home with a racial restrictive covenant prohibiting Mexican ownership, a practice then backed by the U.S. Supreme Court and widely accepted across the nation. Against all odds, the Bernals challenged this unjust restriction and fought for their right to own their home.
