Exciting Lighting Upgrade for Our Sanctuary!

We are thrilled to announce a major lighting upgrade for our main sanctuary, made possible by the incredible generosity of The Wayward Artist, which has donated $25,000 worth of color-changing LED stage lighting to IUCC! Additionally, a handful of generous IUCC members have pledged significant funds to support the installation, which the Administration Board has voted to match.

This upgrade will include the removal of old equipment and the installation of new state-of-the-art lighting, featuring:

A brand-new lighting board for enhanced programming

A wireless relay system connecting all lights

The replacement of the dimmer rack in the Orange County Justice Fund

These enhancements will elevate IUCC’s worship services, concerts, and events while also making our sanctuary a premier rental space for third-party events. In theatre, lighting is the glue that holds everything together—now, we can truly paint with light, bringing our art and sacred storytelling to new heights.

The first opportunity to see these lights in action will be at our Maundy Thursday service on April 17 at 7:00 PM, offering a glimpse into what a theatre ministry at IUCC can look like.

Installation Schedule:

March 17 – March 27

During this time, the sanctuary will be out of service for much of the installation. Sunday worship will continue as usual, but on March 23, some scaffolding and chair arrangements may make the space a bit messy. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we bring this exciting vision to life!
