Join us for an immersive theatrical telling of the Last Supper for our Maundy Thursday service.

April 17th at 7PM

It will be a sacred experience with the Chancel choir, guest celloist Inwoo Su, and professional actors remembering the events of the Last Supper. Through this modern adaptation of liturgical drama, IUCC invites the community to witness the story of Jesus and his disciples in a way that is both historically rooted and profoundly relevant today.

Pastor Craig will bring his gifts in sacred storytelling to life by crafting a compelling script performed by professional actors, showcasing the church’s commitment to creative expression in worship. The powerful voices of the Chancel Choir, under the direction of Dr. Chris Peterson, will provide a moving musical backdrop, deepening the congregation’s connection to this sacred night. Through this modern adaptation of liturgical drama, IUCC invites the community to witness the story of Jesus and his disciples in a way that is both historically rooted and profoundly relevant today.

Liturgical drama has deep roots in Christian worship, emerging in the medieval church as a way to bring scripture to life through theatrical storytelling. Originally performed in Latin within the church, these sacred dramas evolved into more elaborate productions, engaging communities with reenactments of biblical narratives such as the Nativity, Passion, and Resurrection. Over time, they laid the foundation for modern religious theater, preserving the power of storytelling as a means of spiritual reflection. We hope you will join us this Sacred Night!
