IUCC's DEI Ministry is proud to have Roger Gawne as our speaker on zoom June 25th, 2023 from 1-2:30pm. Roger will present on the subject of pronouns.
Roger Gawne (he/him) came out as a queer trans man in March of 2016, and has dedicated himself to social justice activism in the years since. He has run LGBT+ focused clubs in his schools, and organized several events for the community, including the 2021 Santa Monica Queer Prom and the 2023 UCLA Queer Prom. He has volunteered as a facilitator with the CCEJ since 2018, focusing primarily on racial justice. He has collaborated with the Church in Ocean Park several times, including speaking at multiple services, particularly in Trans Day of Visibility services. Roger is currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, with a minor in queer studies, at UCLA.
