DEI, or Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, has organized its upcoming diversity dinner at Ma's House, a unique restaurant located in Laguna Hills. This restaurant distinguishes itself as a halal Chinese establishment, operated by Uyghur owners from Northwest China. Notably, some refer to this region as East Turkestan rather than Xinjiang.

The dinner not only promises a delightful culinary experience featuring predominantly traditional Chinese dishes prepared in accordance with halal dietary guidelines but also serves as a platform to shed light on the intersection of Islam, halal cuisine, and the ongoing oppression faced by the Uyghur minority in China. This event seeks to foster understanding and awareness while enjoying a diverse and inclusive meal.
